Onefinity CNC machine with custom table, wasteboard, and clamps
Goals
My CNC router is hands down the most important tool in my shop. It has proven vital to the success of most of the projects I have made since getting it, and I wanted to improve the workflow to increase the productivity of my machine–and my woodworking business. There were several issues that this setup sought to address. My first table was far too wide, taking up excess space in my small basement wood shop. The wasteboard was also wonky and worn down and the table wobbled because the angle brackets I used to secure support beams were too weak. Despite that, I saw potential in the table’s construction. Happily, minor changes to various joints yielded huge positive impacts, enabling me to reuse nearly all the wood from the first table while resulting in a more stable surface that fits well into my compact workshop.
